The Gielas wading jacket is the perfect lightweight waterproof shell, with astounding weight-to-durability. Thanks to a three-layer construction, including a nylon face and Sympatex membrane, it is durable enough to withstand any expedition and remain completely waterproof and highly breathable. Our partnership with Sympatex has also helped produce one of the most eco-conscious jackets ever made.
The Gielas is so light you barely notice it. It’s perfect for that long hike to a remote lake, when you’re not sure what the weather will hold. When the squall does hit, it’s an invaluable companion. With superior breathability and a base water column of 45,000mm the Gielas has one of the best combinations of breathable waterproofing on the market, and is perfect for all active adventures.
When enjoying the outdoors, we are also committed to preserving it. Unlike traditional waterproof and breathable jackets, the Gielas membrane is completely recyclable, free from ePTFEs or PTCs. The production of Sympatex’s incredible membrane only requires 3 litres of water per kilo of material compared to alternative membranes that can use upwards of 60 litres per kilo of material.

Comfort and reliability
Living close to the Arctic Circle, we don’t spend too much time thinking about the harsh climate. We do however, think very carefully about what we wear when we are waist deep in freezing water in our Northern lakes, rivers and coastal areas. At LOOP we are a collective group of fly fishers designing performance clothing for other fly fishers that share our passion. Our comprehensive range of jackets and technical wool wear are built to withstand the most adverse conditions nature can impose.
Don’t let all the ice and snow fool you into thinking we are all about the cold. Heat regulation year round is the fundamental goal in the design of our gear.
